Our fishing
friends are always telling us how much they love Inflatable boats and we
can’t help admiring their passion for their sport, which we understand
is the largest recreational pursuit in the world. Inflatable boats and
fishing are a natural combination and more fishers are discovering how
practical and safe an inflatable boat can be, and how one of these stable
platforms can make fishing more enjoyable.
If you fish in
small rivers and streams or on small lakes where wind and wave factors are
not severe, than a smaller model will work as long as you don’t overload
it. For example 2 persons can comfortable fish from a 10 foot Zodiac but
not 4 persons…however 4 persons can be transported by a 10 footer, as
long as the loading guidelines are respected.
If you fish on
large lakes or on wide rivers you need a longer wider Zodiac. Remember the
higher the wind, the longer the waves can travel, the larger they will be.
If you are fishing on larger bodies of water where wave size can adversely
affect you boat, then you need a longer wider Zodiac, similar to the
Futura model seen on these pages. All inflatable boats have great all
weather capabilities, if loaded and operated within the acceptable
guidelines. We also supply a line of Rigid Hull boats with inflatable
pontoons, which look similar to the all-inflatable designs. These
R.I.B’s (Rigid Inflatable Boats) are quite amazing and bridge the gap
between a completely inflatable boat and a more conventional boat made of
all Fibreglass or all Aluminium.

We
would like to address an old wives tale and state unequivocally
that fishing hooks or dog claws rarely puncture inflatable boats.
Similar to any purpose driven sharp object, they can damage an
inflatable boat if you drive them in with force, but dragging them
across the top of a pontoon will not penetrate the skin. (phew…)
